Repatriation Hospital Addition

This project involved the provision of a new facility in the Repatriation General Hospital, Training Aged Care Rehabilitation Facility (TACRF).

The specification was large and these buildings have very modern electrical services, including HV/LV generators, transformers, nurse call system, security, UPS, BMS, mechanical services, hydraulic services, Foxtel, lighting and power, just to name few.

With all work completed to the highest standards and in a prompt fashion, our client Badge Constructions were very satisfied with our company’s key contribution to the project.

Techport Australia, Air Warfare Destroyer Systems Centre and Raytheon

One of Tyrone Electrical Services largest contracts to date was the Techport Australia, Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Systems Centre and Raytheon Project.

The AWD Systems Centre is the engine room of the nation building Air Warfare Destroyer project – one of Australia’s largest naval shipbuilding projects ever.

This state-of-the-art project management, engineering and commercial headquarters of the AWD project houses AWD Alliance partners and this high-tech hub is where around 400 expert naval architects, project managers, combat systems engineers, logistics teams, planners and procurements specialists are working together to deliver the most powerful and advanced warships Australia has ever operated.

Raytheon Australia is the Hobart Class Combat System Systems Engineer, a key member of the AWD Alliance team building Australia’s air defence capable ships, the new Air Warfare Destroyers.

The two-level AWD Systems Centre overlooking the shipyard was officially opened by Minister for Defence Materiel in December 2010. It has been built to achieve a five-star green star rating signifying Australian excellence in environmentally sustainable design and construction.

Tyrone’s contribution to these concurrent projects resulted in X, Y, Z, which was very much appreciated by Raytheon Australia and Techport Australia AWD. ???

Woodcroft Shopping Centre

Woodcroft Shopping Centre was a Design and Construct project.

The project was virtually done as an open shop. The shopping centre was kept running as we remodeled the electrical system. An incredible fear for both Badge and Tyrone because???? Need further comment from Tyrone

This Woodcroft project required major new switchboards and cable reticulation. Tyrone Electrical saved the client over $100,000 by using LED lighting throughout the complex.

AFP K9 Facility

The AFP Dog handling unit was a compact building which required the following comprehensive services:

• Lighting protection
• Explosive proof store
• Dog kennels
• Drug store
• Offices

The climate control for the dog unit was designed by Tyrone Electrical’s in-house C-BUS engineers and is a landmark design of innovation.

This project was hampered by delays which were totally out of the control of Tyrone Electrical, however, when the services contractors moved in to complete the project, the original finishing date was not altered. We worked hard to finish the project not only on time, but also on budget.

ACT For Kids

First of its kind, this centre integrates therapeutic support for children and families, a unique Early Education Program kindy, as well as extensive research and tertiary course development to improve best-practice across the sector. This combination of services, research and university education is new and one we hope to replicate in other areas.

The ACT For Kids Child and Family Centre of Excellence includes:

• Purpose built therapy spaces and a specialist preschool with indoor and outdoor play areas for abused and neglected children
• Improved office facilities to accommodate delivery of outreach parenting support and programs
• A child friendly outdoor play and meeting space for families and for ACT For Kids and other community organisations to conduct parenting programs
• A training centre for professional development workshops, undergraduate subjects and postgraduate courses developed in partnership with James Cook University
• A child safety and development research centre to promote evidence based practice, evaluate services and inform program and policy development
